Starting January 1, 2026, public sector employees in Romania will benefit from vacation vouchers worth 800 lei, according to the provisions of Law no. 141/2025 and Emergency Ordinance no. 8/2009, as updated.
Who is eligible
Holiday vouchers will be granted to public sector personnel who have a net basic salary of up to 6,000 lei per month.
How can vouchers be used?
The amounts awarded can be used exclusively for tourism services in Romania. These include:
- tourist packages,
- accommodation services,
- services offered by authorized travel agencies.
The use of vouchers is allowed only in relation to authorized economic operators, according to the legislation in force.
Impact on the economy and domestic tourism
The holiday voucher program remains an important tool for supporting domestic tourism. It contributes to stimulating consumption, maintaining jobs and supporting the activity of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and travel agencies in Romania.
